The general mission of the Cortical Motor Control Laboratory is to understand the physiology of human voluntary movement and the pathophysiology of certain involuntary movements (in Parkinson’s disease, writer's and musician's cramp, tics and myoclonus). Another mission of the lab is improve the sensorimotor performance, i.e. to make our movements more stable and more accurate. For this purpose we use the stochastic resonance phenomenon. We want also to understand the neural basis of the improved performance using stochastic resonance.
